Microvision Pico Projector for Mobile Device will be shown at CES 2008

Microvision will unveil the prototype of the plug and play projector for mobile device at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas next week. It is based on the company’s single micro mirror scanning display technology. This device is codenamed SHOW. It connects directly to the laptops, mobile phones, portable media players, digital cameras etc to project large, high resolution image and video onto any surface. Microvision said that it can project a widescreen, WVGA (848 X 480 pixels), DVD quality image. The projector is targeted to be released by the end of 2008. The demonstration will be shown at the CES 2008 and also the 3GSM conference in Barcelona on February 2008.

I think they will need to make a stronger battery for this, don’t think that the normal cell phone battery will last long for this.
