Optimus OLED Keyboard Pushed to February 2008

We have been talking about the Optimus OLED keyboard since 2006, and the wait is not over: the Optimus Keyboard won’t be fully ready until February 2008, because the software hasn’t been completely worked out.

If you haven’t heard of this keyboard earlier: each key is a tiny display that can be reprogrammed, depending on the context, to adjust to a particular software, or language. It is just uber-cool.

It looks like Art Lebedev will ship the pre-ordered keyboards with the current firmware. It’s not clear what the software issue is, but it is hopefully not too bad and users can simply update the device later. Pre-order ($462)
