The device, supposedly called HTC Flyer, should arrive on the market with the Android 3.0 Honeycomb, though it is currently running under Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform, it seems. Read the rest of this entry »

The past few years might have not been great for Japanese-Swedish mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson, but 2011 might just change that, with the launch of new devices that would prove much more appealing to end-users than some of the latest handsets from the company.

We already had the chance to take a look at the company’s new Xperia arc handset, but it seems that things might not end here, and that the rumored PlayStation phone would also add to the lineup, as well as a Sony Ericsson MT15i device. The new phone sports similar looks with the Symbian-based Vivaz, though it would run under Google’s Android operating system, it seems, while being part of the Xperia family, as the photos attached to this article show. Engadget has a very new source regarding something that everyone wants to know, and that is Apple’s next iPhone and iPad. So let’s head straight to the main point. Source close to Apple claims that the next iPhone is already being tested by senior officers on campus only, which means the phone has passed early design stage.
The phone is a completely redesigned handset, on track for a summer launch this year. It’s currently being tested on site at Apple’s campus. The phone will have a brand new Apple A5 CPU derived from a Cortex A9-based multi-core chip. It’ll feature a Qualcomm chipset that will do three jobs, and that is CDMA/GSM/UMTS radio frequency. That means the next iPhone will have CDMA and GSM support together, eliminating the need for a separate phone. The current Verizon CDMA iPhone 4 is using a dedicated CDMA-only Qualcomm chipset. Also, notice the missing of LTE here. Read the rest of this entry »

It seemed so, because there’s not only one vendor of iPad accessory showing iPad 2 products, but two. This time they’re not only showing cases for iPad 2, but also a foldable rechargeable battery?

Gopod Mobile was showing off an iPad 2 based foldable rechargeable battery pack developed by the company, and depicts the revised devices redesigned curves, ports, and cameras; it is said by Gopod to represent the actual appearance of the as-yet-unreleased thinner and slightly smaller iPad. That said they have a mock up iPad 2 to illustrate better how their accessories match with the upcoming iPad 2. Read the rest of this entry »

Well, here it is, Lenovo’s LePad tabletthat’s running on Android. It’s odd, that the company stated they’ll only release LePad when Honeycomb is out, but now that Honeycomb is official, the company is still sticking to Froyo. Anyway, let’s take a look at what they are. The 10.1-inch LePad is powered by a newer 1.3GHz Snapdragon. The panel has a 1280 x 800 capacitive multitouch display, and seemed to be very thin indeed. While I’m sure that DeWalt makes a very high-quality nail gun that’s perfect for any job that could be completed using a nail gun, this is not it. No, this is an M16 assault rifle that’s decked out to look like a DeWalt nail gun. Of course!

I’d just picked up a new (to me) M-16 and was in the process of fixing it up a little. It needed new furniture anyway, so I sourced the safety yellow stock, guard, and grip. Then, I went down to the DeWalt factory service place a few miles from the house to get a sticker. There, I saw they had brand new battery casings, so I picked up one of those too. I got home, found a short magazine , and got to work.
Fortunately, I think it’s safe to assume that no one will ever confuse this for a nail gun and blow a series of bullet holes in their new porch. But you never know.
